Objavljena je nadogradnja programskog paketa exim, namijenjenog radu na operacijskom sustavu Fedora 14. Nadogradnja ispravlja dva nova sigurnosna propusta. Exim je programski paket koji se koristi kao poslužitelj elektroničke pošte za operacijske sustave Linux. Uočeni propusti vezani su uz ranjivost kod obrade podataka u poštanskom sandučiću te tzv. "race condition" ranjivost kod uključivanja "MBX locking" mehanizma. Zlonamjerni, lokalni korisnici mogu iskoristiti navedene propuste za stjecanje dodatnih sigurnosnih ovlasti i pokretanje napada uskraćivanja usluge. Svim se korisnicima savjetuje primjena nadogradnje.

Exim is a message transfer agent (MTA) developed at the University of
