U radu operacijskog sustava Microsoft Windows zabilježeno je nekoliko sigurnosnih propusta koje je moguće iskoristiti za pokretanje proizvoljnog programskog koda, povećanje ovlasti i DoS napad.
Paket: |
Microsoft Windows 7, Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Microsoft Windows Server 2008, Microsoft Windows Vista, Microsoft Windows XP |
Operacijski sustavi: |
Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Microsoft Windows Vista, Microsoft Windows Server 2008, Microsoft Windows 7 |
Problem: |
neodgovarajuća provjera ulaznih podataka, neodgovarajuće rukovanje datotekama |
Iskorištavanje: |
udaljeno |
Posljedica: |
dobivanje većih privilegija, preuzimanje potpune kontrole nad sustavom, proizvoljno izvršavanje programskog koda, uskraćivanje usluga (DoS) |
Rješenje: |
programska zakrpa proizvođača |
CVE: |
CVE-2011-1985, CVE-2011-2002, CVE-2011-2003, CVE-2011-2011 |
Izvorni ID preporuke: |
MS11-077 |
Izvor: |
Microsoft |
|
Problem: |
Propusti su posljedica neodgovarajućeg rukovanja posebno oblikovanim datotekama fontova i nepravilne provjere ulaznih podataka u win32k upravljačkom programu.
|
Posljedica: |
Spomenute propuste udaljeni napadač može iskoristiti za DoS (eng. Denial of Service) napad, pokretanje proizvoljnog programskog koda s većih ovlastima i preuzimanje kontrole nad ranjivim sustavom.

Microsoft Security Bulletin MS11-077 - Important
Vulnerabilities in Windows Kernel-Mode Drivers Could Allow Remote Code Execution (2567053)
Published: Tuesday, October 11, 2011
Version: 1.0
General Information
Executive Summary
This security update resolves four privately reported vulnerabilities in Microsoft Windows. The most severe of these vulnerabilities could allow remote code execution if a user opens a specially crafted font file (such as a .fon file) in a network share, a UNC or WebDAV location, or an e-mail attachment. For a remote attack to be successful, a user must visit an untrusted remote file system location or WebDAV share and open the specially crafted font file, or open the file as an e-mail attachment.
This security update is rated Important for all supported releases of Microsoft Windows. For more information, see the subsection, Affected and Non-Affected Software, in this section.
The security update addresses the vulnerabilities by correcting the way that the Windows kernel-mode drivers validate input passed from user mode, handle the TrueType font type, allocate the proper buffer size before writing to memory, and manage kernel-mode driver objects. For more information about the vulnerabilities, see the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) subsection for the specific vulnerability entry under the next section, Vulnerability Information.
Recommendation. The majority of customers have automatic updating enabled and will not need to take any action because this security update will be downloaded and installed automatically. Customers who have not enabled automatic updating need to check for updates and install this update manually. For information about specific configuration options in automatic updating, see Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 294871.
For administrators and enterprise installations, or end users who want to install this security update manually, Microsoft recommends that customers apply the update at the earliest opportunity using update management software, or by checking for updates using the Microsoft Update service.
