U radu programskog paketa Wireshark uočena je sigurnosna ranjivost. Wireshark je poznati alat koji se koristi za analizu mrežnog prometa. Ranjivost je uzrokovana prepisivanjem spremnika u funkciji "sect_enttec_dmx_da()" u datoteci "epan/dissectors/packet-enttec.c". Zlonamjerni ju korisnik može iskoristiti za izvođenje DoS (eng. Denial of Service) napada ili pokretanje proizvoljnog programskog koda podmetanjem posebno oblikovanih ENTTEC DMX paketa. Kako bi zaštitili svoja računala od potencijalnih napada, svim se korisnicima savjetuje instalacija nadogradnje.

It was discovered that a buffer overflow in the ENTTEC dissector may 
lead to the execution of arbitrary code.


For the stable distribution (lenny), this problem has been fixed in

For the testing distribution (squeeze), this problem has been fixed in
version 1.2.11-6.

For the unstable distribution (sid), this problem has been fixed in
version 1.2.11-6.
